Will New Government Reimbursement Guidelines Actually Lower Medicare Costs, in the Long Run?
Earlier this year, the U.S. government’s Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced proposed rules that would govern Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs). The guidelines, according to a government release, would: improve coordination and communication among doctors and hospitals, improve the quality of the care their patients receive, and help lower costs.
